They argue that Sokhna Aïda Diallo, the former wife of Serigne Cheikh Béthio, was officially disavowed by the General Khalife of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, making any reception for her contrary to the brotherhood's internal discipline.

Despite these disagreements, extensive preparations, including the cooking of lavish meals, are proceeding for the visitor, much to the dismay of those who believe this hospitality disregards the supreme spiritual authority's decisions.
