Former Super Falcons assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi urges calm ahead of Banyana Banyana World Cup play-off
Former Super Falcons assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi has called for the team to remain calm and seize the opportunity in their World Cup play-off against South Africa. Abdullahi, who is also the Technical Director at Sokoto United and Assistant General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, stated that Nigeria's performance at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was better than generally perceived. He advised the team to focus on the upcoming match to secure a spot in the next stage. Nigeria needs to defeat Banyana Banyana in Casablanca to advance to the FIFA Intercontinental Play-Off Tournament, with a place at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil at stake.
