Senegalese teenager Baye Birame Fall killed in Peterborough knife attack

The incident occurred on a Sunday evening near the Ortongate shopping center in the Riseholme area. According to members of the local Senegalese community, Fall was attacked by a group of male and female teenagers armed with knives. He was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.

Fall, originally from Senegal, had traveled to Mecca in February. His mother, A. Diagne, and other relatives were informed and are receiving support from police services. Cambridgeshire police have launched an investigation, stating the attack was targeted but have not classified it as racially motivated.

Four British youths, including a 15-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and two girls aged 16 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of complicity. Some suspects are from Peterborough and the nearby town of March. A video allegedly posted by someone involved in the attack, claiming responsibility and referencing the victim, has circulated on social media, though authorities have not publicly confirmed its authenticity.
