Patrick Vieira and Senegalese Football Federation face disagreements over technical staff composition
The Senegalese Football Federation FSF and Patrick Vieira are working to resolve disagreements before he fully assumes his role as head of the Lions of T茅ranga. A key point of contention is the composition of the technical and communication staff. Vieira reportedly wants to bring his own press officer, doctor, and physiotherapist, aiming for full control over his working environment, a practice he maintained at previous clubs. The FSF, however, wishes to retain the current press officer. This situation follows a contentious meeting of the FSF's Emergency Committee, where some members criticized President Abdoulaye Fall for acting unilaterally in Vieira's appointment without fully involving the executive committee. Discussions at that meeting reportedly extended beyond Vieira's profile to broader issues of FSF governance and internal procedures. The next step involves a meeting between Vieira and FSF leadership to finalize his support staff. Vieira, who is expected to earn a monthly salary of 35 million FCFA approximately 53,357 euros, also reportedly seeks to change established practices surrounding the Lions, including aspects of captaincy and the management of current team leaders.
