Ousmane Sonko alleges financial irregularities by Aminata Tour茅 at CESE
Ousmane Sonko has reiterated accusations against Aminata Tour茅 regarding her management of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council CESE during her tenure as president. Sonko claims Tour茅 created special funds without proper authorization and opened three accounts where over 2.136 billion CFA francs were allegedly deposited irregularly. He further states that she personally received these sums, citing a report from the State Inspectorate General IGE that he says implicated the former president. This issue stems from an IGE mission investigating CESE's financial management, which questioned Tour茅's use of funds, particularly through cash withdrawals outside public accounting rules. Sonko, who received the IGE report in July 2023 while serving as Minister of Economy under Macky Sall, has publicly discussed these allegations multiple times, including at a Pastef meeting and before the National Assembly in November 2025, where he mentioned possessing new evidence. The IGE report has reportedly been forwarded to the Judicial and Financial Pool. Aminata Tour茅, currently the High Representative of the Head of State, has consistently denied these accusations, labeling them as "totally false" and calling for a public hearing by the IGE to clarify the matter. As of now, no judicial decision has been made in this case, which remains under investigation by the Judicial and Financial Pool.
