Liam Delap completes 拢50m transfer to Nottingham Forest from Chelsea
Liam Delap, a 23-year-old striker, has transferred from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest in a club-record 拢50m deal, signing a five-year contract. Delap spent one season at Stamford Bridge, scoring one Premier League goal. He hopes this move will help him regain the form he showed during his breakthrough 2024-25 season with Ipswich, where he scored 12 league goals despite the team's relegation. Chelsea had signed him for approximately 拢30m and reportedly made a 拢20m profit from his sale to Forest. Delap cited his physical strength, pace, and ball-carrying ability as key attributes. He expressed enthusiasm for working with Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner, believing Glasner can aid his development. Forest anticipates Delap will reproduce his promising form and justify their significant investment.
