Scatec's Mmadinare solar project boosts Botswana's power generation and creates local jobs

The project, operating under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Botswana Power Corporation BPC, has generated over 243,288MWh of electricity since its commissioning. During its construction phase, the project employed more than 1,200 people. Scatec is responsible for supplying electricity to BPC and for the operation and maintenance of the facility throughout the agreement.

BPC chief executive officer David Kgoboko noted that the agreement establishes a long-term partnership between the national power utility and the renewable energy developer.
