FNB T20 Trinations series begins with Namibia Eagles facing South African Proteas
The FNB T20 Trinations series commences with a match between the FNB Namibia Eagles and the South African Protea at the FNB Namibia Cricket Grounds. Namibia previously defeated South Africa by four wickets at the stadium's inauguration. Although South Africa's strongest side is not playing, their team includes talents like Dewald Brevis, Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Tony de Zorzi, Rubin and Jordan Hermann, and a pace attack featuring Kwena Maphaka, Lutho Sipamla, Nqobani Mokena, Eathan Bosch, and Duan Jansen. Namibia national coach Craig Williams acknowledged the challenge, noting the South African team's T20 experience and their head coach Shukri Conrad's presence. Williams stated that Namibia is well-prepared for the series, which also includes Zimbabwe, following two weeks of preparation and an inter-squad game. In a recent inter-squad game, a Namibian A team beat a B team by seven wickets, with Jan Frylinck scoring 60 runs and Louren Steenkamp 55 not out.
