Toby Alderweireld urges Tottenham to sign Victor Osimhen
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has recommended that his old club sign Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen. Alderweireld believes Osimhen's proven goalscoring ability would address the void left by Harry Kane's departure to Bayern Munich in 2023. He highlighted Osimhen's consistent scoring record across his previous clubs, suggesting he would succeed in the Premier League. Alderweireld noted that while other top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United could also benefit from Osimhen, Tottenham's need for a top striker is pressing. He acknowledged that Osimhen's age might be a concern for some clubs seeking younger talent, but argued that experienced, proven players are crucial for balancing a squad with emerging stars, drawing a parallel to his time at Ajax. Tottenham, under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, has already made midfield and defensive signings, but securing Osimhen would require a substantial financial commitment and a formal approach to Napoli.
