Hervé Renard officially appointed as Côte d'Ivoire's new national team coach

Renard, who previously led Côte d'Ivoire to an Africa Cup of Nations title in 2015, returns to the position, succeeding Emerse Faé. His mission is to prepare the team for upcoming international competitions, including the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and qualifications for the 2030 World Cup. The FIF highlighted Renard's extensive experience in high-level football, his knowledge of African football, and his connection to Ivorian football as reasons for his selection. Renard is expected to arrive in Abidjan in the coming days to officially assume his duties and be presented to the media and the Ivorian public. His career includes continental victories with Zambia in 2012 and coaching roles with Angola, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the French women's national team.
