Attorney General consents to judgment in defamation case against former president Khama

The Attorney General has consented to a judgment in a defamation case brought by former president and paramount chief, Ian Khama. Khama is seeking to clear his name regarding allegations that linked him to a purported P100 billion financial scandal. This consent from the State paves the way for a judgment in Khama's favor concerning statements he claims were defamatory and damaging to his reputation. Khama is suing the Attorney General, Jako Hubona, the Director General of the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime, and the Director of Public Prosecutions, seeking damages for defamation of character.
