Eeshoke Chula Chula FC's CAF Confederation Cup bid unconfirmed by NFA
The Namibia Football Association NFA stated that Eeshoke Chula Chula FC was never formally confirmed as Namibia's representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, despite the club being submitted to the Confederation of African Football CAF for consideration. NFA secretary general Mabos Vries explained that the submission was made after Chula Chula, which finished second in the 2025/26 domestic league, requested consideration, but its participation was subject to CAF approval. Vries clarified that the NFA's policy dictates the NFA Cup winner represents Namibia in the Confederation Cup. Unam FC became eligible after winning the delayed NFA Cup within CAF's extended registration period. Vries dismissed claims of a communication gap or that Chula Chula was disadvantaged, stating the club was aware its participation depended on CAF approval. African Stars will represent Namibia in the CAF Champions League, and Unam FC in the CAF Confederation Cup. The NFA's role now involves administrative support for the participating clubs, including licensing and accessing CAF financial support.
