Egyptian Foreign Minister affirms rejection of Israeli measures in occupied territories
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty met with Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine, in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's full support for the Palestinian people and their rights, expressing strong opposition to all illegal Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories. He specifically mentioned annexation attempts, forced displacement, violations in East Jerusalem, and attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, which he stated undermine the historical and legal status quo. The discussion also covered developments in the Gaza Strip following the announcement of the roadmap for U.S. President Donald Trump鈥檚 peace plan. Dr. Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of fulfilling all roadmap requirements and ensuring humanitarian aid access to facilitate the plan's next phase, aiming for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the June 4, 1967 lines.
