
Abia police arrest child trafficking suspect, rescue six children
The Abia State Police Command has arrested Nnamdi Lazarus, 51, from Mbano in Imo State, on suspicion of conspiracy and child trafficking. Operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit, Aba North, apprehended Lazarus, who was residing in Uratta Aba, Abia State, after receiving credible intelligence. Six abducted children were rescued from the suspect's custody and have since been reunited with their families. The police stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the child trafficking syndicate, and Lazarus will be charged to court upon the conclusion of these investigations. The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through intelligence-led policing and assured residents that criminal elements would have no hiding place within the state.
