APC chairman apologizes to aggrieved members, seeks unity ahead of 2027 elections
Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, apologized to aggrieved party members for perceived wrongs during the party's internal primaries. Speaking in Ibadan, Oyo State, during the launch of an APC Campaign Office, Yilwatda stated that the National Working Committee takes responsibility for any mistakes made by the committee that conducted the primaries. He appealed to members who felt hurt, injured, prevented, or excluded to forgive the party and unite for the 2027 general elections. Yilwatda emphasized that any errors were the party's collective mistake, as the committee was established by the national leadership. He urged members to view the situation as an internal family affair and assured that the APC is prioritizing Oyo State due to its strategic importance and large voting population. Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the state APC governorship candidate, commended Yilwatda for fulfilling promises to the state within two days, noting that the achievements surpassed previous efforts by stakeholders. The PUNCH reported that some aggrieved governorship aspirants in the state had previously protested against the party's candidate, alleging imposition.
