Mojtaba Khamenei's adviser threatens to sink US ships in Strait of Hormuz

Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a warning on Wednesday, stating that Iranian missiles would sink US ships if they attempted to "police" the Strait of Hormuz. Rezaei, a former commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, emphasized that this would endanger American military personnel. He also suggested that a ground invasion by the United States would be "good" for Iran, as it would allow them to take thousands of hostages and demand a billion dollars for each. Rezaei, known for his hardline stance, stated his personal opposition to extending any ceasefire and affirmed that Iran would not abandon the Strait of Hormuz until its rights are fully respected. He added that Iran is prepared for a long-term conflict, unlike the United States, which he believes fears such a scenario. Rezaei led the Revolutionary Guards from 1981 to 1997, including during the Iran-Iraq War.
