Egypt reaffirms solidarity with Lebanon, discusses regional developments
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Lebanon to preserve its sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions during a phone call with Lebanese Foreign Minister and Emigrants Youssef Rajji. The two ministers discussed strengthening bilateral ties and regional developments. Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to working with Lebanon to promote bilateral relations and cooperation. They also addressed the recent negotiations between Lebanon and Israel in Rome, aiming to facilitate Israel's withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Abdelatty stressed the importance of continuing negotiations and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, urging Israel to cease military attacks and withdraw from Lebanon to enhance stability and prevent escalation. He reiterated Egypt's support for the Lebanese government, its efforts to strengthen state sovereignty, and state institutions, particularly the Lebanese army. Rajji expressed appreciation for Egypt's consistent support for Lebanon and its institutions, affirming Lebanon's desire for continued coordination with Egypt on matters of mutual concern.
