Prophet Isa El-Buba criticizes Sheikh Yahya Jingir's 'infidel' remarks and Muslim-Muslim ticket support
Prophet Isa El-Buba, General Overseer of El-Buba Outreach Ministries, has criticized Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir for reportedly calling Christians 'infidels' and advocating for a Muslim-Muslim political ticket. Jingir had reportedly stated in a social media video that those opposing a Muslim-Muslim ticket should leave Nigeria, claiming the country belongs to Muslims. El-Buba, in a video shared on his X account, accused Jingir of promoting religious division amidst northern Nigeria's struggles with insecurity, poverty, banditry, drug abuse, criminality, and community displacement. He emphasized the importance of religious leaders promoting peaceful coexistence and stated he has supported over 10,000 Muslims in northern Nigeria. El-Buba questioned the consequences if Christian leaders adopted similar rhetoric and challenged northern leaders to address socio-economic and security issues rather than inflaming religious tensions. He urged religious leaders to help communities overcome challenges and appealed to Muslims who disagree with such rhetoric to speak out. El-Buba also criticized the Kano State Government's response to Jingir's remarks, asserting that Nigeria belongs to all its citizens and is bigger than individual or religious interests, calling for unity.
