Babacar Ba accuses Ousmane Sonko of "misappropriation of objectives" regarding political funds
Babacar Ba, president of the Forum du justiciable, has criticized the management of political funds by the Prime Minister's Office under former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. Ba disputes the connection between certain expenditures made by Sonko and the Casamance peace program, which Sonko cited to justify the use of funds. Ba argues that the purchase of official vehicles and the financing of social expenses have "no direct link" to the 2004 decree establishing the Casamance peace program. He describes this discrepancy as a "misappropriation of objectives," raising broader concerns about governance and public resource control. Ba has called on President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to reform the management of political funds in Senegal, noting the historical lack of transparency surrounding these funds.
