
Zambian CSO consortium records 100 election day incidents by 10:00 AM
The Ziko Lathu Consortium, a group of six civil society organizations and networks, reported 100 incidents on election day as of 10:00 AM. These incidents, recorded by 10,000 monitors across all 10 provinces and 116 districts, included delays in opening polling stations and accessing voting materials, as well as inconsistent processes for assisting the elderly and persons with disabilities. Anne Mbewe-Anamela, Executive Director of NGOCC and spokesperson for the consortium, stated that preliminary reports indicate voting is generally underway, with observations covering various aspects such as polling station administration, accessibility, and security.
