Osun Governor Adeleke demands arrest of Senator Fadahunsi over alleged killing threats

In the video, the lawmaker allegedly incited violence against leaders, supporters, and family members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s governorship election. Governor Adeleke reported the matter to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, who reportedly confirmed the video's existence and assured action. The governor described Fadahunsi's alleged remarks as a "national security threat" and an "incitement to genocide."

Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, shared the video and an English translation, which quoted the senator as saying, "From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorise you to kill them. They have wives and children too."

However, Senator Fadahunsi stated that the video was edited and manipulated, claiming his remarks were a call for retaliation if alleged attacks on APC members continued, not an incitement to violence. He urged residents to reject violence and participate peacefully in the election. Governor Adeleke also alleged that a police signal had been issued to arrest Accord Party leaders across Osun State and detain them in Abuja until after the election, which he believes is an attempt to influence the election outcome.

He demanded an end to the "illegal operations" of the Intelligence Response Team, which he claims has been arresting Accord Party leaders without just
