
Senate President Akpabio highlights Tinubu administration's achievements, anticipates 2027 re-election
Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress administration has sufficient achievements to present to Nigerians for the 2027 general elections. Akpabio claimed that when Tinubu took office in 2023, the administration inherited a difficult economic situation where 27 states were unable to pay workersโ salaries and pensions. He made these remarks during a courtesy visit from members of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions, TETFund and NELFund, led by Senator Dandutse Mohammed, at his residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio's Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, released a statement in Abuja on Tuesday confirming this. Akpabio asserted that the President has significantly contributed to Nigerians, noting that the economic situation has improved due to Tinubu's reengineering efforts. He expressed confidence that Nigerians would re-elect President Tinubu for a second term in 2027, citing the administration's achievements in economy, agriculture, security, education, and fiscal policy. Akpabio also defended the performance of the 10th National Assembly, stating that the Senate has passed legislation aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians and will continue to collaborate with the Executive arm of government.
