NSSF commends Nestlé Nigeria for its role in school sports development

NSSF President Olabisi Joseph described Nestlé's support as unrivalled, highlighting its positive impact on millions of Nigerian children and the creation of a legacy in school sports over the past 26 years. The championship has served as a breeding ground for excellence, with many talents discovered through the competition going on to represent Nigeria at various levels and build professional careers. This year's edition saw over 13,000 schools compete, with 12 teams reaching the national finals in Lagos.

The finals will also include clinics, mentorship sessions, and cultural exhibitions, with NSSF implementing screening, biometrics, and data capturing to ensure participant eligibility. Joseph concluded that the championship aims to nurture confidence, leadership, and citizenship among Nigerian youth, beyond just winning trophies.
