Northern senators urge federal government to rescue abducted worshippers and residents in Borgu attack

Senator Abdulaziz Yar'Adua, Chairman of the forum, condemned the attack on Kpenya Mosque and the villages of Gidan-Zana and Kpenya in Dekara District. The PUNCH reported that terrorists invaded a mosque in Gidan-Zana, Kpenya village, Dekara District, Borgu Local Government Area, abducting worshippers during Jumat prayers, including children, women, and the elderly. The forum expressed deep concern over reports of attackers planting landmines and abducting more residents for bargaining.

Senator Yar'Adua urged the Federal Government to deploy more security personnel, intensify rescue operations, and review the security architecture in Niger State and the North-Central region to prevent future attacks. He also called for urgent relief and medical assistance for affected residents and reinforced security in Borgu and other border communities.
