Former Ghana Museums and Monuments Board Executive Director criticizes $270 million Nkoko Nkitinkiti poultry investment
Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamoah, former Executive Director of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, has criticized the government's decision to invest an additional $270 million into the poultry sector through the Nkoko Nkitinkiti programme. Speaking on UTV鈥檚 Adekye Nsroma, Ofosu Ntiamoah questioned the program's effectiveness, stating it has not delivered expected benefits. He compared it to the previous guinea fowl project under the Mahama administration, which faced controversy. Ofosu Ntiamoah alleged that some Nkoko Nkitinkiti beneficiaries are consuming the birds instead of using them to establish sustainable farms, calling the proposed $270 million investment a waste of public funds and a "scam." He accused the government of prioritizing projects that do not address the country鈥檚 most pressing needs, such as completing abandoned hospital projects, and argued that healthcare infrastructure should be prioritized over initiatives like the 24-hour economy agenda. His comments come as the government aims to expand domestic poultry production and reduce reliance on imported products.
