Nigerian Army offers N60m bounty for ISWAP governor and deputy
The Nigerian Army has announced a N60 million bounty for the capture of two senior leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province ISWAP: Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the group's governor, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda. This declaration follows their identification through forensic analysis of technical devices recovered during recent military operations against ISWAP in the Lake Chad region. A N50 million reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of the ISWAP governor, while N10 million is offered for his deputy. The Acting Military Information Officer, Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai, Capt Muhammed Goni, stated that the recovered devices included high-value intelligence materials and a camcorder used by ISWAP for propaganda. The public is urged to provide credible and timely information to security agencies, with assurances of confidentiality and protection for informants. Citizens are advised not to confront the suspected terrorists.
