Donald Duke advises opposition to unite against Bola Tinubu for 2027 election
Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party and former Cross River State governor, has cautioned opposition politicians against underestimating President Bola Tinubu. Duke emphasized that unseating the incumbent in the 2027 general election requires a united front from opposition parties. He highlighted the significant advantage of incumbency, noting that government institutions and resources are skewed in favor of the ruling party. Duke used an analogy of fighting a "lion who also has horns" to describe the challenge of confronting President Tinubu, stressing that inadequate preparation would lead to failure. He argued that opposition fragmentation, driven by ego and personal ambitions, would only benefit the incumbent. Duke's remarks underscore the need for rival parties to overcome individual differences and forge a common platform to effectively challenge the All Progressives Congress and President Tinubu.
