Ferran Torres scores twice as PSG draw 2-2 with Rennes in Ligue 1 opener
Spain's World Cup winner Ferran Torres scored two goals to secure a 2-2 draw for Paris Saint-Germain against Rennes in their opening French Ligue 1 match. Rennes took a 2-0 lead at halftime with goals from Sebastian Szymanski and Esteban Lepaul. Torres, making his Ligue 1 debut as a substitute, scored his first goal for PSG after an assist from fellow World Cup winner Fabian Ruiz. He then combined with Ruiz again to head in the equalizer with eight minutes remaining. PSG's manager Luis Enrique brought on Torres, Maghnes Akliouche, and Fabian Ruiz in the second half to turn the game around after Rennes had established a strong lead. Earlier in Ligue 1, Olivier Giroud scored as Lille defeated Angers 2-0, and Eric Dier secured a 1-0 win for Monaco against Le Havre.
