
Nigerian troops rescue 16 civilians, repel terrorist attacks in Zamfara and Sokoto states
Troops from the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued 16 civilians and repelled terrorist attacks in Zamfara and Sokoto states. In Zamfara, troops responded to a distress call in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, rescuing four civilians from an attempted abduction. Later, they engaged terrorists in a firefight near Kwanoni Village in Tsafe Local Government Area, rescuing 12 passengers from two vehicles. In Sokoto State's Tambuwal Local Government Area, troops repelled an attack near Jabo Village, though two civilians sustained gunshot wounds and were evacuated for treatment. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, stated that these operations demonstrate the troops' commitment to protecting civilians and thwarting terrorist activities.
