
FCT Police order trial for four officers accused of extorting ICPC chairman
The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory Command, Ahmed Sanusi, has ordered an orderly room trial for four police officers. The officers, identified as ASP Clement Ehigala, ASP Sunday Okpe, Inspector Samuel Onoja, and Sergeant Yakubu Emmanuel, are accused of abandoning their duty posts and extorting ₦52,000 from Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC. The incident reportedly occurred on July 11, 2026, at Banex Plaza Junction in Wuse II, where the officers allegedly conducted an unauthorized traffic enforcement operation. The FCT Police Command stated that disciplinary proceedings have begun against the officers, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism and zero tolerance for misconduct. Commissioner Sanusi had previously described the officers as "thieves" and vowed severe disciplinary action, including dismissal, for those found culpable.
