Moses Itauma seeks immediate rematch with Filip Hrgovic after heavyweight title loss
Moses Itauma is eager for a rematch against Filip Hrgovic following his ninth-round stoppage loss at London's O2 Arena. Itauma, who was ahead on all judges' scorecards after eight rounds, was unable to maintain his pace, leading to Hrgovic's comeback victory. The 21-year-old boxer was hospitalized after the fight but released hours later. Upon returning home, Itauma contacted his promoter, Warren, to request an immediate rematch. Warren, however, advised Itauma to rest and recharge before discussing future plans. While acknowledging Itauma's talent and potential, Warren suggested that Itauma might benefit from facing slightly less challenging opponents in his next one or two fights before returning to that level of competition. Warren noted that Itauma's aggressive fighting style in the Hrgovic bout led to him expending too much energy, leaving him vulnerable in the later rounds despite being ahead on points.
