NIGCOMSAT Managing Director urges public institutions to build financial credibility before seeking funds

Speaking on the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation Podcast, Egerton-Idehen emphasized that institutions must demonstrate responsible management of existing resources. She highlighted transparent financial reporting and consistent delivery on targets as crucial for building credibility with funders. Egerton-Idehen noted that financial credibility involves more than commercial returns, also encompassing clean audits and functional organizational structures.

She urged reform leaders to proactively make key financial information public to gain trust. Kole Shettima, Africa Director of the MacArthur Foundation, concurred, stating that trust is vital in funding decisions, and funders often take calculated risks based on the credibility and experience of reform leaders and institutions.
