Yomi Fabiyi demands probe into Tope Osoba's death, seeks autopsy
Nollywood actor and human rights activist Yomi Fabiyi has called for an investigation into the death of actress Temitope Osoba. Fabiyi, through his organization Break The Silence Foundation, has petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, stating that Osoba had reported a matter to the police shortly before her death. He questioned the decision to proceed with her burial without an autopsy, emphasizing the need for due process. Fabiyi stated that his organization would continue its probe regardless of the burial plans. Osoba's death was announced by actor Alesh Sanni. Her death occurred about two years after she publicly disclosed her battle with breast cancer, from which she had announced recovery in August 2025. The Awonuga/Osoba family has warned against speculative reports concerning her death. Her burial is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State. Osoba's fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, claimed she died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, and rejected speculation about breast cancer complications. However, Osoba's maternal aunt, Pejuola Ogunesan, stated that Osoba had spoken about her impending death and her condition worsened before hospitalization. These conflicting accounts have not been independently established, and Fabiyi's call adds to demands for clarity.
