
Ange Fabien Gu茅i to be honored at Africa Next Awards 2026 in Paris for his journey from agro-economy to media leadership
Ange Fabien Gu茅i, Director General of NCI and Radio Nostalgie C么te d鈥橧voire, will be recognized at the inaugural Africa Next Awards on September 3, 2026, at the Folies Berg猫re in Paris. Gu茅i, an agro-economist by training, began his career in economic studies related to the coffee-cocoa sector and public administration before transitioning to media in 2018. He became Deputy Director General of NCI during its construction phase and a consultant for Radio Nostalgie C么te d鈥橧voire. NCI launched on Ivorian DTT on December 12, 2019, and Gu茅i became its Director General in June 2020. In September 2022, he also took on the role of Director General for Radio Nostalgie C么te d鈥橧voire, a station established in 1993. His leadership has focused on developing NCI's identity through information, debates, entertainment, culture, and sports, with a strong emphasis on digital platforms, including a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers. NCI has also moved into content production with NCI Cr茅ation, aiming to release new original works regularly, such as the series "Castes," "L鈥橢ffet Papillon," and "L鈥橝gence." The channel is also a co-producer and media partner for "脡binto," a film adaptation. In sports, NCI secured production and broadcasting rights for the Elephants' 2026 World Cup African qualifiers, deploying extensive resources. Gu茅i's professional recognition extends continentally; NCI joined the African Union of Broadcasting AUB in 2022, and in April 2026, Gu茅i was appointed one
