Presidency pledges support as Nigeria hosts World PR Forum
The Nigerian Presidency has pledged its support for the upcoming Global Alliance World Public Relations Forum, scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 15 to 21, 2026. The event, themed “Deepening Responsible Communications,” is expected to attract approximately 3,000 delegates from 126 member countries. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, conveyed this assurance during a meeting with the Planning Committee of WPRF Abuja 2026 at the State House. The delegation was led by Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. Onanuga expressed enthusiasm for Nigeria hosting the global event, emphasizing its role in correcting negative perceptions about the country. Dr. Neliaku highlighted that Nigeria is the first African nation to host this forum and mentioned that Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema will deliver the keynote address, with President Bola Tinubu receiving a lifetime Award of Excellence in Reforms. Preparations are reportedly well underway, with partnerships established with media organizations and security agencies. The conference will also feature a signing ceremony for "The Abuja Declaration" and will be gender-inclusive.
