UBA approves H1 2026 audited accounts, appoints Puri director
United Bank for Africa Plc has approved its audited financial statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026, pending clearance from the Central Bank of Nigeria. This approval was granted at the bankโs board meeting on August 13, 2026. UBA will notify the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public upon receiving the CBN's approval. The bank's closed period will remain in effect until 24 hours after the audited results are publicly released. In a separate decision, the board also approved the appointment of Ibrahim Puri as a non-executive director, also subject to CBN approval. Puri brings over 35 years of experience in financial services and corporate executive roles, including banking, fintech, telecommunications, and fast-moving consumer goods. He previously served as an executive director on UBAโs board before retiring in 2022 and currently holds non-executive director positions at other companies, including Nigerian Breweries Plc and 9mobile. UBA had previously informed the Nigerian Exchange and investors in July about the scheduled August 13 board meeting where the financial statements would be considered.
