Morocco allocates 15 billion dirhams to accelerate youth employment
The Moroccan government is accelerating the implementation of its National Roadmap for Employment by 2030, supported by an additional allocation of nearly 15 billion dirhams. This strategy aims to expand employment programs to include non-graduates, strengthen the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills ANAPEC, and localize integration policies. Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, announced these measures in a written response to the House of Councillors. The government's 2021-2026 program targets the creation of at least one million net jobs, prioritizing young people furthest from the labor market, especially those not in employment, training, or education. The roadmap focuses on non-graduates, enhancing ANAPEC's intermediation roles, and removing barriers for women's access to the job market through improved transport, public lighting, and childcare services. Other priorities include combating school dropout, developing second-chance schools, and expanding vocational training. The Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, the "Green Generation" strategy, and the development of national nursery provisions are among the economic levers supporting this initiative.
