Moniepoint disburses over $700 million in loans to MSMEs in 2025, with 36% going to women entrepreneurs

The company's 2025 Impact Report, 'Creating Financial Happiness,' highlights how transaction-based lending provides access to finance without traditional collateral. Businesses receiving Moniepoint loans saw a 36 percent increase in average transaction value, and enterprises banking with the fintech supported over eight million jobs. The report also noted a significant increase in lending to women-owned businesses, rising by over 300 percent in 2025, with women accounting for 36 percent of the total loan portfolio, exceeding the industry average of 15 to 25 percent.

Moniepoint attributed this expansion to data showing women borrowers had a default rate 2.5 times lower than male borrowers. Beyond lending, Moniepoint's payment infrastructure facilitated transactions worth over $170 million through its USSD banking platform and its point-of-sale terminals operated across all 774 local government areas, serving about 100 million people. User surveys indicated that 83 percent of customers experienced an improvement in their quality of life.
