Kwara State Governor receives new army battalion deployed to Omu-Aran
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, met with senior Nigerian Army commanders regarding the deployment of a new battalion to Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area. The governor announced on his Facebook page that he received the troops alongside Major General Yakubu Yahaya, General Officer Commanding 9 Division, Nigerian Army, and Joint Task Force Operation Savannah Shield, and Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade, Ilorin. AbdulRazaq stated that this deployment will enhance security operations in Kwara, aiding efforts against banditry, kidnapping, and other threats. He thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, for the swift deployment and expressed confidence in its positive impact on peace and security. The governor also revealed that preparations are underway for another Army battalion deployment to the Patigi axis of the state. He commended President Bola Tinubu for approving these additional military deployments, highlighting the Federal Government鈥檚 commitment to addressing Kwara's security challenges.
