Mauritius and India revive infrastructure cooperation agreement

Their focus included technical assistance, capacity building, expertise exchange, and the adoption of new technologies. They reviewed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU signed in 2016 between Mauritius's National Development Unit and India's Ministry of Rural Development. Minister Gunness noted that there had been no development since the MoU's signing and emphasized the importance of revitalizing the collaboration.

The renewed partnership will include capacity-building programs for engineers and technicians, technical expertise and best practices exchange, and training opportunities in India. Discussions also covered the construction of new drainage systems for flood periods and the use of artificial intelligence in infrastructure development projects, such as road construction.
