Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor addresses arrests for political comments, stating some are independent police actions

Speaking on TV3’s The Key Points, Dafeamekpor expressed his concern that such arrests negatively impact the National Democratic Congress NDC government, even when the government is not involved. He urged the government to monitor these arrest patterns, emphasizing that allowing people to express themselves would not undermine the administration. Dafeamekpor clarified that the government does not desire the arrest and detention of individuals for their comments.

These remarks follow the New Patriotic Party's NPP 'Democracy Under Attack' demonstration, which protested alleged political persecution and abuse of state institutions by the government, allegations the government has denied.
