Senegal national team doctor position faces internal dispute
A discreet but real power struggle is unfolding behind the scenes for the position of doctor for the Senegal national team, currently held by Dr. Abdourahmane F茅dior. Dr. Alioune Badara Diouf is reportedly being lobbied for by several members of the Senegalese Football Federation FSF to succeed Dr. F茅dior. This maneuver comes after FSF President Abdoulaye Fall publicly questioned Dr. F茅dior's qualifications, stating he was a gynecologist by training and that players lacked full confidence in him. Dr. F茅dior refuted these claims, highlighting his sports medicine specialization obtained in 2008, and was defended by the Senegalese Association of Sports Medicine and the National Order of Doctors of Senegal. Amidst this ongoing suspicion, Dr. Alioune Badara Diouf's candidacy has re-emerged. Conversely, Dr. Babacar Ngom is favored by the Association of Doctors of Senegal, which had previously supported him in an election against Dr. Alioune Badara Diouf during the last FSF general assembly. This situation could reignite tensions within the FSF, forcing it to choose between a candidate supported by some of its members or maintaining confidence in Dr. Babacar Ngom, potentially leading to further internal friction.
