Vice President Shettima represents President Tinubu at AU summit in Angola
Vice President Kashim Shettima has traveled to Luanda, Angola, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. The trip was announced by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President. The summit will focus on strategies for conflict resolution and promoting peace and stability across Africa. Shettima will join other African leaders to discuss solutions to regional security challenges and strengthen collective efforts in conflict prevention and resolution. Nigeria is expected to contribute to discussions on strengthening continental mechanisms for preventing conflicts, resolving disputes, and sustaining peace. Shettima will deliver President Tinubu鈥檚 address, outlining Nigeria's position and reaffirming its commitment to peace and stability. The Vice President, accompanied by senior defense and security officials, is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit.
