Libya's Marsa al-Brega port resumes LPG tanker arrivals, boosting supplies and reducing costs

The National Oil Corporation NOC announced the resumption of LPG tanker arrivals at Marsa al-Brega port, a strategic move to stabilize local market supplies after a hiatus since 2017. Khaled Ghulam, Director of the Media Office at the NOC, stated that the arrival of the tanker “Gas Houston” with approximately 1,000 metric tons of cooking gas was due to direct instructions from NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman and coordination between Brega Oil Marketing Company and Sirte Oil Production and Manufacturing Company. Technical teams completed maintenance and upgrades to the port’s infrastructure, including storage tanks, loading lines, and transportation systems, alongside safety and operational efficiency improvements. Ghulam highlighted the positive economic impacts, such as reduced transportation and supply costs, improved cooking gas availability, increased sector efficiency, and enhanced ability to meet citizen needs, ultimately supporting the national economy and mitigating supply shortage crises.
