
Chinese petroleum firms offer to aid Libya's oil, gas, and renewable energy development
Chinese companies under the Chinese Petroleum Chamber of Commerce have expressed readiness to support the development of Libyaโs oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors, utilizing Chinese expertise. This announcement was made by the Secretary-General of the Chinese Petroleum Chamber of Commerce and Industry during a meeting with the Libyan General Union of Chambers in Tripoli. The discussion focused on boosting economic and investment cooperation between Libya and China, especially in energy. The Secretary-General confirmed her attendance at an energy forum in Misrata Free Zone in November 2026. Additionally, the Libyan General Union of Chambers invited the Chinese delegation to be guests of honor at the Libyan-European Oil, Gas, and Energy Forum in Madrid, Spain, on December 2โ3, 2026. Both parties stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and communication to foster new economic and investment partnerships, aiming to strengthen economic ties and support Libya's energy sector growth.
