Libyan Prime Minister Aldabaiba meets French Envoy Soler, discusses political developments and direct flights

Their discussion focused on recent political developments in Libya, initiatives to support the political process, and efforts to unify state institutions. Both parties stressed the importance of continuing these efforts to achieve stability and facilitate elections. They also explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in economic and development cooperation.

The Libyan government confirmed that arrangements are being made to resume direct flights between Libya and France by the end of September. MedSky CEO Siraj Al-Fitouri had previously announced the upcoming launch of flights to Paris, which would be the airline's seventh European destination. Al-Fitouri has also hinted at future European destinations, including London.

In April, aviation delegations from Lufthansa and ITA Airlines visited Mitiga airport and met with the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority regarding the resumption of ITA flights to Libya. However, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency EASA extended its flight ban over Libya until January 2027 on July 24.
