
Libyan Prime Minister and National Oil Corporation Chairman discuss electricity and fuel crisis
Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba met with Masoud Suleiman, Chairman of the National Oil Corporation NOC, to address the country's electricity and fuel situation. The meeting focused on urgent measures to resolve current bottlenecks and ensure stable supplies, following a summer marked by power cuts, protests, and calls for the Prime Minister's resignation. Aldabaiba reviewed gas and liquid fuel quantities supplied to power plants, consumption rates, and actual needs, emphasizing daily coordination between the NOC and the General Electricity Company of Libya GECOL. The NOC Chairman affirmed the corporation's commitment to prioritizing GECOL's fuel needs. The meeting also covered the fuel supply for citizens, with the NOC head confirming regular supply and distribution. The Prime Minister directed the formation of a joint coordination room to monitor fuel and gas for power generation and address bottlenecks, underscoring that resolving the electricity and fuel situation is a government priority.
