Former Bosa Gauteng leader Ayanda Allie expelled over financial dispute
Ayanda Allie, former Build One South Africa Bosa Gauteng leader, claims her expulsion from the party stems from a dispute over financial contributions. Bosa confirmed her expulsion after a disciplinary process. Allie stated that tensions began when she declined to sign a Code of Conduct requiring her to donate a month's salary annually and an additional 10% of her gross salary monthly. While the policy was later revised to 10% of her net salary, which she accepted, further issues arose when she was allegedly informed that legislative funds for travel and constituency work would not be made available to her. As a result, Allie withheld the party levy, using the resources for community initiatives instead. During mediation, she agreed to pay the levy but requested reimbursement for personal expenses, leading to an agreement to offset amounts. However, misunderstandings over mayoral candidacies led to a disciplinary hearing. Allie admitted to withholding the levy, and while the hearing chairperson ruled against dismissal, the Bosa Board of Directors disagreed, leading to her expulsion. Allie expressed gratitude to Bosa leaders and members despite the breakdown in their relationship.
