Allied People's Movement suggests Osun election results foreshadow 2027 presidential outcome for Tinubu
The Allied People’s Movement APM has stated that the outcome of the Osun State governorship election indicates President Bola Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the APM's candidate. In a statement, APM National Publicity Secretary Yusuf Abubakar said the opposition's victory in Osun, a state with strong political ties to President Tinubu, demonstrates the electorate's ability to defeat an incumbent political establishment when dissatisfied. The APM views the Osun result as evidence of declining support for the All Progressives Congress APC and increasing demand for leadership change at the federal level. The party highlighted alleged booing of President Tinubu’s political associates, including APC governors, as they left Osun State, suggesting growing public dissatisfaction with the ruling party.
