Moroccan airports handle over 22 million passengers in seven months, ONDA reports

Moroccan airports welcomed 22,282,997 passengers during the first seven months of 2026, an 8.77% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the National Airports Office ONDA. International air traffic rose by 8.82% to 19,894,489 passengers, while domestic traffic increased by 8.36% to 2,388,508 passengers. Casablanca Mohammed V Airport recorded 6,953,695 passengers, followed by Marrakech-Ménara with 6,407,303, Agadir-Al Massira with 2,179,857, Tangier Ibn Batouta with 1,711,764, and Rabat-Salé with 1,446,355. The European market was a significant driver for international traffic, contributing 16,541,007 travelers, a 9.29% increase. South American, North American, and African markets also showed strong growth, with increases of 34.21% 62,880 passengers, 14.54% 581,297 passengers, and 13.74% 1,175,674 passengers respectively. Traffic with Maghreb countries grew by 10.06% to 295,188 people. However, traffic with the Middle and Far East decreased by 4.12% to 1,238,443 passengers. Moroccan airports also registered 164,164 aircraft movements by the end of July 2026, a 9.82% year-on-year increase. Air freight reached 66,980.55 tons during the first seven months of the year, marking a 12.61% progression from 2025. In July 2026 alone, Moroccan airports served 3,450,846 passengers.
