Nioro Customs seizes 50 million FCFA in fake medications and 16,600 condom packets, three women arrested
The Nioro Mobile Customs Brigade conducted two significant operations, leading to the seizure of illicit products and the arrest of three foreign nationals. On August 14, 2026, agents at S茅gr茅 S茅ko intercepted a vehicle carrying fake medications valued at 50 million FCFA. The cargo, which included analgesics, antibiotics, and vitamin injections, was hidden in a Citro毛n C-Crosser with a fake Senegalese license plate. This interception followed an intelligence lead. A second operation, carried out on August 12, resulted in the seizure of 16,600 packets of condoms found in two packages. Three foreign women were apprehended in connection with this second operation. Initial findings from the investigation suggest potential links to alleged human trafficking and pimping networks. These operations highlight the Customs' intensified efforts to combat the circulation of illicit products and trafficking networks operating across Senegalese borders.
